• The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is similar to the GCSE Certificate.
• It is one of the most popular international qualifications in the world for 14-16-year-olds.
• IGCSE is designed to be studied over two years in years 10 and 11.
• Cambridge IGCSE and Edexcel IGCSE Boards are considered the most important in Qatar. 
• There are over 70 subjects available at the Cambridge IGCSE board and 40 subjects on the Edexcel board.
• Most schools require students to take a minimum of 5 or 6 IGCSE subjects which must include the 3 compulsory subjects of Maths, English, and Science.
• The Core Subjects include English, English Language, Literature, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, modern language or ancient language, History, geography, and more.
